Waltti is Finland's national travel card system. Owned by the Helsinki Region Transport Authority (HSL) in conjunction with 22 other towns and cities across Finland and developed in 2013, the system is used in 19 different cities, of which 16 have an intercompatible system.

In addition, the following cities use the Waltti system but with non-Waltti cards:

Tickets

All cities that use Waltti cards, plus Tampere and Turku, have ticket prices that vary depending on the method of payment. With a travel card, you can buy a value ticket (Finnish: arvolippu) which is cheaper (usually by 10-20%) than a mobile or paper ticket. Season tickets can be bought with the Waltti Mobiili app in some cities. Value tickets can be bought in any Waltti city with any Waltti card (e.g. a ticket in Jyväskylä can be bought by a card from Vaasa), but season tickets cannot be bought on another city's card (e.g. a season ticket for Oulu cannot be loaded on a card from Mikkeli).

Cards

Most Waltti cards are personal and tied to your Finnish social security number (except in certain cities). All Finnish travel cards can be bought either online (except anonymous cards) or at a service point or R-kioski (in most cities). Below is a list of cards and their online prices. Unless otherwise stated, cards are of the traditional yellow and blue style.
