Dear Lazy Us is a Windows AI viewing assistant for understanding websites, PDFs, study materials, news, games and other content in place. It is intended for adults aged 18 or older. You obtain your own Gemini API key. The key is kept only in main-process memory while the app runs and discarded on exit, not stored in operator databases, KV, D1, settings or application logs. It passes through Cloudflare to Google over HTTPS for connection checks and analysis. Operating-system memory management and user-created memory dumps are outside this guarantee.
Only explicit analysis actions send the selected or entered text, images, Keyword, instructions and output language to Gemini. Full webpages, whole PDFs and browsing history are not automatically sent to AI. Capturing or pasting an image creates a local preview; Analyze sends it. In lecture analysis, only when you choose Analyse, the text read from that PDF is sent to Gemini in parts, and, to read figures, tables, graphs, diagrams, formulas and scanned pages, the pages that need it are rendered in the app as images (JPEG, about 1280 px on the long side, at most 40 pages per lecture) and sent to Gemini. The PDF file itself is never sent to Gemini (only the needed text and page images are); page images exist only in memory for sending and are not saved. Lecture notes are never sent to AI. Only when you choose "Analyse the whole course", the saved analysis results of that course's analysed lectures (key points, definitions, formulas, figures and page findings, with their lecture and page numbers) are sent to Gemini in parts to compare the lectures. PDF files and page images are not sent again, and course or lecture notes are not sent. The course analysis is stored on your device and deleted with the course. Only when you choose to analyse a past exam, the text read from that exam PDF and the pages that need it as images (the same format as lectures, at most 40 pages per exam) are sent to Gemini to organise it by question (no answers are produced). Only when you choose "Match with lectures", that subject's past-exam results (question labels, concepts asked, formulas) and lecture results (topic names and kinds, lecture numbers) are sent to Gemini to find the correspondences (no page numbers, PDFs or page images). Past-exam PDFs, their results and the match are stored on your device and deleted with the exam or the subject. Past exams can also be added as PNG or JPEG images (several images become the pages of one exam). At registration the app turns each image upright, scales it down (about 2400 px on the long side) and stores it on your device without its camera data (EXIF, including location); the original files are not changed or deleted. Only when you choose Analyse, each page is sent to Gemini as a page image (JPEG, about 1600 px on the long side), as for PDF exams; file names and locations are not sent. Notes are never sent to AI. Only when you choose "Analyze in detail" in PDF detail analysis, the text read from the one PDF you chose is sent to Gemini in parts, the pages that need it (figures, tables, formulas, scans) as images (the same format as lectures, at most 40 pages per PDF), and the items extracted from them (short summaries of key points, terms, definitions, formulas and figures, with page numbers) to organise the content. The PDF file itself, its name and its location are not sent. The PDF detail analysis result and a copy of the PDF (to open its pages) are stored in the app's folder on your device (not added to a course or lecture) and both are deleted when you delete that analysis. PDF detail analysis has two modes, General PDF and Paper, chosen by you (the app never decides that a PDF is a paper). Both send the same kinds of data (text, the needed page images and the extracted items); in Paper mode the extracted items also include research aims, methods, experimental conditions, results, claims and statistics. No outside search of the paper (DOI, literature databases) is made. When one PDF is analysed in both modes, each mode's result and PDF copy are stored and can be deleted separately. Only when you choose "See answer & explanation" (or Regenerate / Update explanation) for a past-exam question, that one question's analysis (label, type, summary, sub-questions, formulas, figure descriptions), the text read from its pages, the page images it needs (only that question's pages, at most 3, in the same format as exam analysis) and the related lecture analysis items linked to it (short definitions, formulas, figure descriptions and comparisons with their lecture and page numbers) are sent to Gemini to write an answer and explanation. The whole exam, other questions, whole lecture PDFs, file names and locations are not sent. The answer and explanation are stored on your device and shown again without sending anything; they are deleted with the exam or the subject. They are AI output for study and may contain mistakes. Only when you write your own answer under "Answer it yourself" and press "Review my answer" (or Review again / Update the review) for a past-exam question, that one question's analysis and page text, the answer you entered (up to 10,000 characters), the page images it needs (only that question's pages, at most 3), the related lecture analysis items and, when a saved answer and explanation exists, the parts of it a review needs (outline, model answer, required knowledge, a short explanation) are sent to Gemini to write a review. The whole exam, other questions, whole lecture PDFs, file names and locations are not sent. The answer you are writing (draft) stays on your device and is not sent. Reviews and your attempts (up to 10 per question) are stored on your device and shown again without sending anything; they are deleted with the exam or the subject. A review is AI output for study, not a score or a pass / fail judgement, and may contain mistakes. Only when you press "Generate" under "Make review questions" for a study topic (or a theme name you type, up to 100 characters), that one topic's lecture analysis items (short summaries of definitions, formulas, figure descriptions and comparisons with lecture numbers and pages, at most 16 per request), images of its figure pages when a figure question can be made (as in lecture analysis, at most 3 pages) and, for "Past-exam style practice", the question forms found in the topic's past exams (the form and whether a figure or formula was involved only) are sent to Gemini to write review questions (at most 5 per request) with their answers, explanations and hints. Whole lecture PDFs, past-exam text or answers, your answers, study status, file names and locations are not sent; the beginnings of review questions already made for the topic are sent so they are not repeated. Only questions whose lecture evidence is confirmed on your device are stored, with their lecture pages (at most 100 per subject; no prompt, raw AI response or page image). Review questions are AI-made study questions, not real past-exam questions or exam predictions, and may contain mistakes. Reviewing your answer to one is sent only when you ask, as for past exams. Each can be deleted; deleting the subject deletes them with their drafts, answers and reviews. Custom calculators: only when you choose Make a custom calculator → From material and then Read the calculation steps, the needed part of the one material you chose is sent to Gemini to structure its calculation (inputs, constants, tables, formulas, intermediate steps, outputs and how they connect): for a past-exam question its analysed data and the text of its pages, with its saved answer's formula, given values and working; for a lecture formula that formula with the other formulas and definitions of its page; or a description you typed (at most 4,000 characters). Whole PDFs, other questions, file names and locations are not sent. Gemini returns only the specification; every number is calculated in the app on your device. The specification is kept on your device as an unconfirmed calculator until you save or delete it (up to 20; the oldest goes first), and as a calculator once you check and save it (its name, inputs, constants, tables, formulas, outputs and references to the material; never the instructions sent, Gemini's raw answer, your whole description or page text), and using it later sends nothing. With Make it yourself, only when you press Make the calculator, just the description you wrote (at most 4,000 characters) and the one image you attached (PNG or JPEG, one at most) are sent to Gemini for the same purpose. Before it is sent, the image is scaled down and re-encoded on your device, which removes its metadata such as EXIF. The image is not saved, and its file name and location are not sent. It does not count as an image analysis. A value the material does not state is not taken from Gemini; it becomes a field for you to fill in. Each calculator can be deleted. The operator does not permanently store text, images or results. Workers KV stores an HMAC-SHA-256 usage identifier derived from the key with a server secret, UTC date, separate text, term and image counts, completed lecture PDF and PDF detail analyses (counted together), started lecture analyses, completed review-question generations, answers and reviews (counted together), per-run session data for each analysis feature (counts, plus question and attempt identifiers only — no text or results) and per-feature start counts where a daily start limit is set, expiring after 48 hours (session counters after 24 hours). The Desktop edition’s daily allowances are 30 sentence translations and follow-up questions, 30 term look-ups, 15 images, 5 lecture PDF and PDF detail analyses together, and 10 review-question generations, answers with explanations and reviews together (lecture PDFs, PDF detail analyses, review questions, answers and reviews count only when completed). They are counted apart from the extension, even with the same key. When a “Reference” is attached to a text, term or image analysis or a follow-up, a digest made from that PDF’s saved PDF detail analysis (title, summary, themes, terms and definitions, section headings; up to 2,500 characters) is sent to Gemini with it. The PDF’s full text, page images and file name are not sent. The reference is chosen automatically when the PDF shown has a detail analysis, and can be removed with × above the input before sending. Its characters are not counted toward usage.
Language, Keyword, consent and PDF viewer settings may be stored locally. Do not put confidential information in Keyword. API keys are not saved. Browsing cookies are session-only. Only user-selected local PDFs are read; downloads remain where you save them. Lecture analysis stores on your device the course name, lecture number, title, file name, a SHA-256 fingerprint of the PDF, the structured analysis result (including page numbers and short summaries of what page images showed) and your notes. A PDF you register as a lecture is also copied into the app's lecture folder on your device (under a name the app generates), so it can be analysed after its tab is closed or the original file is moved or deleted. Web pages and PDFs you do not register as lectures are not stored. In lecture analysis, page images, prompts, raw AI answers and API keys are not stored (the history of text, term and image analyses is described below). Notes stay on your device and are never sent to AI. Deleting a course or lecture deletes its results, notes and stored PDF copies from your device (the day's usage count is not restored). The free version can register 3 courses (each with up to 20 lecture PDFs and 2 past exams), 10 PDF detail analyses and 30 custom calculators (the planned paid version: 10 courses, 30 lecture PDFs and 6 past exams per course, 100 PDF detail analyses and 300 calculators). Reaching a limit never deletes what is already there. Cloudflare relays requests and manages usage; Gemini performs analysis. Sites and search engines receive ordinary browsing requests. The operator does not store browsing history. Third parties apply their own terms to communication metadata. For some AI processing the Google Gemini API's safety features (for example, detection of sexually explicit content) are used; Google makes that judgement and no additional data is sent for it. Content may then not be processed, and the features are not guaranteed to judge every piece of content correctly. See the Terms of Use for the conditions of use. Text, term and image analyses keep on your device (in the app’s user data) the text, term or instruction you entered, the Keyword and output language, the questions and answers of follow-ups (explain, summarize…; up to 10 per entry) on that text, the AI’s answer, a small preview of the image (at most 320 px on the longer side) and the name of the referenced PDF — the newest 20 of each kind (100 in the planned paid version). The reference digest, prompts, API keys and the image sent are not stored. Nothing of it is sent anywhere. You can delete one result, one kind or everything on the history screen, and turn “Keep analysis results in the history” off so new results are not kept. Withdrawing privacy consent does not delete the history (delete it from the history screen). Usage counts per feature (runs, characters, images, tokens — numbers only) are also kept on your device and never sent.
For unpaid Gemini services, Google may use inputs and outputs to improve its products and human reviewers may review them. Conditions can differ by region or billing setup. See the current Google terms. Do not submit confidential information, personal data or unpublished research.
This free app has no advertising, accounts, trial, Pro purchases, subscriptions or automatic billing. The operator does not sell data or use it for advertising. Your own Google charges, if any, are governed by Google. Remote pages cannot access Node.js or internal app IPC. Exit the app to discard the key; revoke it in Google AI Studio if necessary. You can remove local settings and downloads on your device, and the analysis history from its screen. Text you select in a web page’s password field is not read. A client certificate a site asks for is never given. Verify important AI outputs against original sources.
