Joshua Aluga is a health policy advocate and communications consultant working to expand equitable access to healthcare across Africa. His work spans policy training, youth leadership, and global health diplomacy. He is the Managing Director of Equicare Strategies, a non-profit health policy and communications organisation dedicated to empowering youth-led initiatives in strengthening health systems through policy innovation, advocacy, and strategic communication.
Joshua has trained hundreds of emerging healthcare professionals across Africa in policy advocacy, communications, research, and leadership. He has also co-authored global policy statements on access to family planning and self-care in reproductive health, representing the voices of over 1.3 million medical students worldwide.
As Communications Officer at the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), Joshua contributed to the development and execution of the organization’s social media strategy for the first in-person Global Model WHO, and continues to serve as Multimedia Editor, producing cross-platform visual content that analyzes trending global issues and promotes youth engagement in multilateral spaces.
He has held leadership roles in major youth-led organizations, including Chairperson of the Policy Advisory Council and Publications at the Federation of African Medical Students’ Associations (FAMSA), as well as Academy Coordinator of the Nigerian Medical Students’ Association (NiMSA).
