Community Quilt Project
Objectives
Students will generate ideas for a quilt square about their family and/or community based on brainstorming prompts.
Students will create an embroidered/stitched quilt block from fabric communicating ideas visually about their family and/or community, which will be added to the class community quilt.
Storytelling and Me
Objectives
Students will brainstorm Big Ideas and themes from various contemporary children's books to generate ideas for making art.
Students will select a contemporary children's book, identify a Big Idea from the book, and create a 3D paper sculpture or diorama that communicates the Big Idea visually as it relates to the students' own experiences.
