Geografia Tropical Portuguesa (1945-1974) 

Este programa de investigação pretende rever, numa base teórica explicitamente pós-colonial, o extenso trabalho que as instituições geográficas portuguesas desenvolveram em África entre a Segunda Guerra Mundial e a Revolução do 25 de Abril. As fontes, na sua maioria escritas em português, encontram-se arquivadas em várias instituições, juntamente com muitas obras sobre os actuais países lusófonos e países vizinhos. Materiais antigos deverão ser submetidos a extensa crítica, indexação completa e publicação da informação relativa aos exemplares bibliográficos e cartográficos.

Portuguese Tropical Geography (1945-1974)

This research programme aims to review, drawing on a explicitly postcolonial theoretical basis, the extensive body of work that Portuguese institutions developed in Africa between WWII and Carnation Revolution. Sources, most of them written in Portuguese, are archived in several institutions, along with many works regarding Lusophone and neighbouring countries. Old materials are to be submitted to extensive critique, full indexation, and publication of information regarding bibliographical and cartographical exemplars.
