PASS Lab Tutor for Gross Anatomy II

The Palmer Academic Student Success (PASS) program is a free study strategy service available to all DC students on the Palmer Campuses. PASS study leaders are successful upper trimester students who have the skills, ability, and desire to facilitate the learning and academic successes of their peers. PASS lab assistants are available during selective open lab hours to answer lab-related questions and help facilitate learning. They provide additional opportunity to view lab materials, as well as participate in review sessions and mock practical exams. Regular participation helps students conquer their nerves and align them for success in lab.

My focus as a PASS Lab Tutor is in Gross Anatomy II. We cover the human anatomy of the body wall and contents of the major body cavities. Gross anatomical features of the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary, reproductive, endocrine, and lymphatic systems, including functional and clinical aspects.

Senator Joseph Pennacchio:

Intern at Senator Joseph Pennacchio's 26th Legislative Office in Montville and Trenton for two consecutive summers and winters. During this time, I communicated issues with constituents via e-mail and phone, created and mailed legislative information, and contributed to secretarial tasks on a daily basis.

World of Beer & The Hacienda Hills Country Club:

"Interdisciplinary business junior Joe Salamone interned in Orlando, Florida at World of Beer and The Hacienda Hills Country Club & Restaurant during summer 2016, where he applied his TCNJ education to real life business scenarios. World of Beer is leading the unique, exploding cultural phenomenon of Craft Taverns. The Hacienda Hills Country Club is a traditional country club setting with striking dining hospitality.

At World of Beer, Salamone shadowed owner, Mahesh Nomula who immigrated from India 17 years ago with little money in his pockets. Joe described Nomula’s life as the great American success story who’s formula for success is simple, “There are no shortcuts in life, you just have to work hard, and America is the best place on earth if you have a dream.” Read more about entrepreneur Mahesh Nomula here.

Joe commented “This internship will add real-life experience to my Interdisciplinary Business Major. I will interact with customers, assist in creating new development strategies, attend meetings, network, coordinate special events, participate in promotions and public relation functions. Carini's House of Iron:

Intern at Carini's House of Iron. Training along side the All-Time-Great Mr. Joe Carini not only taught me how to write workouts and get stronger, but also to increase my mental stamina and toughness. Here we trained athletes ranging from youth to professional (NFL) level. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Dr. Joseph D. Salamone D.C.:

Intern and employed as an office assistant at Dr. Joseph D. Salamone's Health and Wellness Chiropractic Center. Here I implemented the healthcare compliant computer software program, Chirotouch, along with designing and maintaining Dr. Joseph D. Salamone's official website. I worked as part-time staff: front desk and insurance billing.

Impact Consulting Enterprises:

Marketing and Web Design/Development Intern with Impact. Impact Consulting Enterprises is a minority-woman owned, strategic communication, marketing and public relations firm. Transformed clients’ businesses and brands via WordPress as a web design & development intern at Verasoni Worldwide. They are a “fiercely independent public relations and marketing communications firm that delivers the highest level of creative and strategic integrated marketing communications and public relations campaigns to clients in the United States and across the globe.”

Flip Up Shirts:

T-shirts with a flip! Shirts that will have people staring, trying to figure out what they say while you walk around. Flip Up Shirts is a unique design in which random lines of letters are flipped up into witty, hidden sayings. Flip Up Shirts was founded in high school (2011). We design, print, and ship Flip Up Shirt orders for organizations, companies, and individual customers.

Power Balance Bracelets:

At fifteen years old I sold Power Balance Bracelets to individuals and at multiple locations. These are a "brand of hologram bracelets once claimed by its manufacturers and vendors to 'use holographic technology' to 'resonate with and respond to the natural energy field of the body'"

Garage Masters:

My first taste of entrepreneurship started at the age of thirteen. My friend and I started a garage floor painting business in which we cleaned, prepped, and epoxied garage floors around our neighborhood during our middle school summers.

I am building a stronger, kinder community with social interactions while safely providing a driving service via an app in my community.

I am assigned to work in the absence of a regular teacher to aid students in understanding subject matter, as well as to provide skills required for given lessons and purposeful training for the classroom assigned.

I worked as a Brand Representative for Abercrombie Kids, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister. Using my experience, I trained new employees to become efficient customer service representatives.
