The project aims at collecting, selecting, and disseminating information on the life and work of the late nineteenth to mid-twentieth century artist Josef Rotter. Undertaken in the memory of an early admirer of Rotter's work, the common grandfather of two of the participants, the project is unaffiliated, noncommercial, and has benefited from the help of many friends and relatives, including a Viennese art historian, an Iranian Azeri bibliophile, two graphic designers, and an intellectual property lawyer.
