Products Developed

• PC-Based Digital Video Recorder. Neugent developed a 16-channel video/audio PCI capture card with on-board real-time MPEG4 encoder/decoder. Neugent also developed the device drivers and software applications in a Linux environment. This product has been sold in over 70 countries.

• Embedded Digital Video Recorder. This standalone DVR was developed from ground up including the main board, peripheral components, chassis, firmware, device drivers and software applications. This product is being used by 185 Starbucks shops all over China.

• Streaming Video Client Software. This Windows-based software comes as bundled software together with Neugent’s DVR products. This software allows users to view MPEG4/H.264 video in real-time over long distances via the Internet.

SVI Technologies, Inc.

• Handled software development, maintenance and support requirements of business services and contact center services of SVI. Business services include document management services, document scanning and indexing, litigation support and medical transcription. Contact center services include telemarketing and customer support.

• Conceptualized, developed and implemented strategic technology solutions. Spearheaded the development of a content management system called the Global File System (GFS).

• Developed vertical solutions using the home-grown electronic document management system (GFS). Applications include electronic bills presentment for SMART Telecommunications, personnel records management for a Shell Ship Management Limited, U.K., Oracle Financials- GFS integration for Software Ventures International Corporation, patient records for Meditype Philippines and voice log repository for two local call centers.

• Developed a Mathematical Programming Report Language (MPRL). MPRL is a report writing toolkit specifically designed to easily and quickly generate reports from results of linear and integer optimizers. The tool improved productivity by a huge factor and allowed operations research analysts to focus on analysis rather than writing reports.

• Gap Detection in Streaming Audio (October 1999). A multi-channel real-time algorithm used to determine gaps or relative sudden drops in amplitudes in an audio waveform.

• Predictive Dialing Based on Agent Contributions (October 2000 – December 2000, March 2003). An algorithm used to determine the optimum number of telephone numbers to dial to minimize the idle time of call center agents subject to a maximum allowable abandoned call rate.

• Variant of 64-bit DES Encryption (July 2001). A variant of the industry standard DES encryption algorithm used to protect land titles with an unlimited number of Levels of passwords.

• Real-Time Black Frame Detection in Streaming Video (February 2002). A multi-channel real-time algorithm used to determine black frames in streaming video by evaluating the relative color intensity of a video frame against surrounding frames.

• Motion Detection Algorithm (2005). A multi-channel zone-based motion detection algorithm based on pixel-differences between successive frames of video.

• Real-Time Implementation of Object Detection Using Background Subtraction (2007). An algorithm used to determine whether an object was taken away from or introduced into a scene.

NOTABLE APPS

• PusoyChallenge.com. Development Period: October 2020 - February 2021. A web-based implementation of the Pusoy game also known as Chinese Poker. The game is written in Javascript. For 2D graphics, the game utilizes a 3rd-party library called PixiJS. For the back-end, the game utilizes Back4app.com which is an implementation of the popular Parse library.

• Poker Einstein. Development Period: November 2012 - May 2013. An iOS implementation of the Pusoy game. The game is written in Objective-C. The back-end utilizes the Parse library.
