Welcome! I am a political economist and an aspiring academic. A native of Toronto, Canada, I have also lived and worked in Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, Philippines and now currently based in Los Angeles, California.
I was trained in economics at the University of Toronto, the University of Queensland, and UC Santa Barbara. I am currently a PhD Candidate at the Department of Political Science at UCLA. I have consulted for the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank on development and data projects in the Philippines and Mexico.
I use tools from economics and political science to study the political economy of elite power, focusing on how elite networks and production structures shape development, particularly in the Philippines and Latin America. My latest publications and ongoing research projects can be found here.
