Bio

I am a political economist and an aspiring academic. A native of Toronto, Canada, I have also lived and worked in Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, Philippines and now currently based in Los Angeles, California.

 

I was trained in economics at the University of Toronto, the University of Queensland, and UC Santa Barbara. I am currently a PhD student at the Department of Political Science at UCLA. Additionally, I am consulting for the World Bank's Identification for Development (ID4D) Initiative for projects based in the Philippines and studying misinformation for UCLA's Initiative to Study Hate.

I combine methods in economics and political science and my research interests lie in the Political Economy of Development, specifically in regards to State Capacity and Institutions. My latest research is featured in the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization.
