I love finding beauty around the world, whether it be of people, trash, buildings, or objects. Capturing people’s homes feels like a candid shot. Instead of people it’s the places they live. We don’t see the people inside but we capture a glimpse of their lives through their lawns, porches, walls, and windows. In the span of two weeks I walked around Rexburg, Idaho looking for interesting houses, some with toys everywhere, decorations, a fresh cut lawn, or anything that brings me to my past in a little way. With what we see in these photos we can make assumptions about the lives in these homes. My Intent is to create that feeling of nostalgia. Coming home after school to the place you can relax, or visiting grandma and grandpa’s house and sneaking cookies from them with cousins and siblings. We know nothing about the people that live their lives inside of these homes, but we can imagine. These homes remind us of memories from our childhood, of going to a friend’s house for the first time, hundredth time, or last time. Each home holds stories we cannot access, only hints of what it shows and what it might hide. In these photos, I hope viewers find small glimpses of their own past and a sense of familiarity
