Best academic records in my promotion
The initial goal of my PhD was to find new conditions for Fourier multipliers on group von Neumann algebras to be bounded. However, research rarely follows a straight path, so I also explored other related topics, such as non-commutative Orlicz spaces, interpolation theory, and generalizations of Riesz transforms.
All of this work was carried out under the supervision of my advisors, Javier Parcet and Adrián González-Pérez, from whom I first learned how to conduct research!
The Junior Colloquium (UAM-ICMAT) is a space for graduate students to give their first talk in front of a math audience. It also helps build bonds between students of different areas and meeting people in the department while enjoying a coffee and some sweets.
I really love the philosophy of it, so after contributing several times with a talk I became organizer of this event. It was a very enriching experience that forced me to reflect on what it means to give a good talk and also to learn how to organize a regular seminar.
I was invited by professor Simeng Wang to visit the Harbin Institute of Technology (or HIT) for 3 months during the summer of 2024. Several events were taking place there at the time (conferences, summer schools, workshops...) and I had the opportunity to work by the side of outstanding researchers, as well as get to contact experts of neighbor research areas.
During my visit to China, I also got to try real Chinese food for the first time.
After a good deal of suffering, spiciness has never been a problem for me again!
