Artist Statement

This image represents my connection to Praxis and Critical Consciousness.

The middle image represents me and my disability and how I’ve connected it to my funds of identity. It interprets sharing my life experience, actively engaging and collaborating with students who are disabled in college while also gaining new knowledge from their experiences. Learning assistive technology from the student’s perspective so that I could effectively train them so they could navigate through their courses successfully. I had to lead by example to show students how to advocate for their educational needs and empower them to self-advocacy in education and society.
