I've been taking photos since primary school, rotating between different types of photography. But in 2020, I threw myself deep into bird and landscape photography as part of my own personal response to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns and 2019-20 Black Summer bushfires, which forced me to reckon with the impermanence of life and nature. Photography has become my primary hobby outside of work, driven by an urgency to record moments in nature for future generations who may not be able to enjoy the same environment of the early 21st century.
One year into my bird photography journey, my photo 'The Day the Sky Cried' was recognised with a 2021 Birdlife Australia Photography Award in the 'Human Impact' category.
In 2023, I finished in the Top 10 of the "Art" category in the Top Emerging Australasian Photographer awards for my photo series "Twilight Blaze", which was published in the Winter 2023 issue of Capture Magazine.
