Hello!

My name is Jon Keppel.  Welcome to my e-portfolio which was created for the final requirement in my MLIS graduate program at Kent State University.  My area of specialization focused on adult librarianship at a public library.  I have a background in art and have been living my life as art for the duration of this program so there are splashes of art-related content throughout this portfolio, but it has all been with the core mission of becoming a librarian at a public library, perhaps in a department whose collection includes art-oriented materials.  One day I would like to either be a director of a public library or a director of a life art institute.  

Living life as art informs everything that I do. Thinking outside of the box is a part of my working process and so with adult librarianship at a public library always in mind, I doubled down on that core vision as you will see from sampling this site (particularly the courses taken) while also exploring how other contexts could bring some fresh perspectives to public libraries and create new vistas of value to draw from.  

I am excited to put all of what I have learned to work in serving at a public library.  Projects that deal with presentations, infographics and strategy from varying contexts are all transferrable, I feel, to what we do in public libraries.
