C&FRC is actively collaborating with the AIM Lab, led by Prof. Seunghoon Hwang in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at California State University, Northridge (CSUN).
Together, our teams are developing flexible sensors for wearable robots and exoskeleton systems, combining materials expertise with robotics to bring creative, real-world solutions to life.

We are pleased to announce that Myeongjin Park, a member of our lab, has been awarded a scholarship from the Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI) Scholarship Foundation.The scholarship ceremony was held on February 26, 2026, recognizing outstanding students who demonstrate strong academic potential and dedication to the development of the textile and advanced materials industries.
Our lab collaborated with Lotus E&T Co., Ltd. through the Corporate Empathy One-Stop Support Center to address technical challenges in the development of silica-based functional filters. During the project, we provided technical consultation and research guidance to improve the stability and performance of the electrospinning process used for manufacturing silica nanofiber filters.

Meeting at the Korea Textile Development Institute (KTDI) on the localization of industrial silica thimble filters
Our lab members participated in the 2025 Fall Conference of the Korean Fiber Society, where students presented their research and engaged in academic discussions with researchers from various institutions. The conference provided valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, gain feedback, and stay updated on recent advances in fiber and composite materials research.
Following the conference, the lab held a social gathering to celebrate our achievements and strengthen team connections. Our lab held a project meeting on combat helmet development in collaboration with industry and research partners, including K-Tech, the DYETEC Institute, and the Korea Textile Machinery Convergence Research Institute. The meeting focused on discussing research progress, coordinating technical roles, and exploring strategies for enhancing ballistic performance and lightweight multifunctional helmet design.
Through this collaborative effort, partners shared expertise in advanced materials, fiber processing, and composite manufacturing to accelerate the development of next-generation combat helmet technologies. Such meetings reflect our lab’s commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and the practical implementation of innovative defense materials research.
To discuss the localization of industrial thimble filters. Currently, industrial thimble filters are entirely imported from abroad, highlighting the need for domestic development and production.
To address this issue, the C&FRC Lab at Kumoh National Institute of Technology and Lotus E&T Co., Ltd. are collaborating to promote the localization of industrial thimble filters.

Our lab participated in a collaborative project meeting for the Granted Project on recycled PET fiber development with industry and research partners, including DYETEC Institute, Hanbu Solution, Woosung Chemical, and Koreco Synthetic Fiber. The meeting focused on discussing project progress, defining technical roles, and strengthening cooperative strategies for sustainable fiber innovation.
Through this multi-institutional collaboration, partners shared expertise in materials processing, fiber manufacturing, and performance evaluation to accelerate the development of high-value recycled PET fibers.
