Carbon Materials & Fiber Reinforced Composites (C&FRC) Laboratory focuses on the design, processing, and performance optimization of advanced fiber-based materials and composite systems for structural, energy, and functional applications. The laboratory integrates carbon materials (e.g., carbon fiber, carbon nanotube, graphene) with modern composite manufacturing technologies to develop high-performance and sustainable material solutions.
C&FRC conducts research on carbon fiber materials, fiber architecture design, and multifunctional composites. Core research areas include carbon fiber development, toughening mechanisms and interfacial engineering of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP), piezoelectric nanofiber energy harvesting, and metal matrix composite systems.
