Parents are probably the most underutilized asset to teachers. A supportive parent becomes like a co-teacher in the learning process, and it's not that hard to foster supportive parents.
Communication is key. In 2025, it's very easy to create consistent streams of communication with parents. Here are some recommendations:
Weekly group class emails at minimum containing an assessment timeline and resources for parent assistance
Phone calls: positive and negative
Class website resources
Weekly/monthly class newsletters
