In the classroom, one of my first teacher acts has always been to jot down student birthdays and also to post monthly birthdays by the door. I posted them by the door so they would be seen and the students would celebrate each other.
My recommendation is for school leaders to not just celebrate their teachers, but ALL of their staff: custodians, cafeteria, security, even bus drivers. They are all part of the school community.
