Director of A Level, Maru-a-Pula
Jonathan runs one of the most successful A Level programmes anywhere outside of the UK. In May/June 2021, Maru-a-Pula students gained an amazing 94.4% A/A*s in their A Level exams.
Jonathan has taught in the Bahamas, the UK, Botswana and was involved in setting up a brand new IB school in Norway.
Maru-a-Pula School
Maru-a-Pula celebrates 50 years of excellence in 2022. Set up to showcase the fact that multi-racial education could be more effective than the best that South Africa could produce, the school is now one of the best in the world in terms of academic results and university placement. This has been achieved without sacrificing its leading value of service.
International School Telemark
Jonathan was part of the founding group of staff at IST and went on to successfully lead the secondary school through the IB accreditation Process.
IST was set up of part of the 'Free School' initiative that meant that the school was paid the normal amount from government for a student and could charge a small top-up fee.
Online Learning and Speaking
Jonathan was the lead developer of Maru-a-Pula's online learning throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. This led to him being invited to speak at the 2021 EduTech conference.
He has previously organised and given IB workshops in Norway and has presented to the Headmasters Conference in Botswana.
