This homelab is made a few pieces of hardware.

The rack remained simple to setup, as all 1U rack mounts and blank faces were simple to screw in. I decided on having the switch face the perceived from of the rack to easily manipulate future network patch cables.
To connect the actual infrustructure the whole environment is derived from my ISP's router's switch. It is extended to the WAN port on the rack's switch. The switch connects to the patch panel via patch cables. I made the patch cables and all utilized ethernet/RJ45 cables with 2gb/s rated, CAT6, unsheielded data cable with unshielded RJ45 connectors. All cables tested for quality connection, not speed. Figure 1, in the images above shows the patch cables themself. And Figure 2, shows a custom length cable to conenct the switch to the original/current node.
