Place

A place is a space that has meaning, created by human experiences. [7]

The Colosseum is a symbol for power, genius, and brutality of the Roman Emperor. [7]

It is also a symbol of Rome. [6]

Over the 400 years that the Colosseum was in use, it was used to host many things. Some of these include gladiator fights, battle re-enactments, mock sea battles, drama plays, public executions for prisoners, and exotic animal hunts. [6]

About 5000 animals were killed and about 2000 gladiators lost their lives during the 100 days of games that took place to display the Colosseum when it first opened. [6]

Here is an original picture, taken by my friend Nicole Petersen, of what the cages where they kept the wild animals.
