Graduate student working on the evolution and development of the central nervous system
Born and raised in Peru. I majored in Biological Sciences at National University of San Marcos (Lima, Peru) and acquired research experience in population genetics and molecular systematics.
Abroad, I did a first internship with Prof. Donald Pfister at Harvard University, where I was introduced to molecular systematics in fungi. I did a second internship with Prof. Gonzalo Giribet at Harvard, where I worked in molecular systematics and anatomy of sea hares.
I am currently a Ph. D. candidate at Clark University under the supervision of Prof. Néva Meyer. Here, I work on the evolution of the central nervous system using the segmented worm Capitella teleta.
