The John T. Mooney Scholarship Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 to honor the life of John T. Mooney, Sr. Our dad exhibited exceptional leadership, exemplary community service, dedication to quality education and tireless devotion to family. All seven of his children graduated from St. Bernard High School. The scholarship fund was renamed in 2003 to honor the life of our mother as well. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student at St. Bernard who possesses the same qualities that our parents exemplified. On behalf of the entire Mooney family, I wish to congratulate the scholarship winners to date and to encourage all St. Bernard students to continue to make us all proud.
