My name is John Chirayil, and I am a recent graduate of Elmhurst University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Game Entertainment Technology. I specialize in Unity-based game development, with additional strengths in character design, animation, and video editing using tools such as Adobe Premiere, WeVideo, and TikTok.
Throughout my academic career, I have demonstrated the ability to collaborate effectively in team settings and contribute meaningfully to group projects. Most recently, I led the development of a 2D top-down survivor game for my senior capstone project, where I handled both the technical implementation and visual design.
I also have experience working independently under pressure. During the 2025 Global Game Jam, I completed a solo project—designing, programming, and producing a fully playable game prototype within a limited time frame. This experience showcases my ability to manage tight deadlines, solve problems creatively, and stay focused while working alone.
In addition to my technical and creative skills, I served as Vice President of the Video Game Development Club at the College of DuPage, where I helped coordinate events and support fellow students in their own development projects. I also worked as a staff writer for The Courier, where I honed my communication skills and developed a strong understanding of storytelling and audience engagement.
With a multidisciplinary foundation in game development, visual design, video production, and written communication, I am excited to contribute to innovative and collaborative projects in the interactive entertainment industry.
