About apoetjb

I am a birdwatcher

and video-maker

and bushwalker (sandstone at Curracurrang, Royal NP)

and poet (jotting on a bushwalk)

and ex-Sydney resident (pictured at Sirius Cove, Curlew Camp, where Roberts and Streeton painted)

and scholar (PhD, "A New Defence of Poetry')

and traveller, Xmas day, Swat Valley with Mick (and hair)

but not necessarily a Norman Lindsay fan (tho' have you seen his anti-war cartoons, the best things he did)

and my partner is the writer and artist Bronwyn Rodden.

CV

I think it's more to do with the last poem one worked on, or rather, the poems and other projects one is working on right now. I don't think poets have a need to be 'professional'; I have scant records of where I sent my poems or where they have been published.

I have worked as a policy officer for the National Parks & Wildlife Service, have taught poetry, literary hypertext at university and eco-philosophy at the University of Sydney's Continuing Education. I currently work part time in the School of Public Health at the University of Sydney.

New 2011 publicity shot. Looks like I'm rather fond of a banksia!
