I am a mother, a community leader, and an education leader dedicated to advancing equity, innovation, and transformative change in higher education. I currently serve as Assistant to the Dean for the College of Education at New Jersey City University, where I provide administrative support and strategic planning, foster partnerships, and lead projects that connect higher education with K-12 school districts. In this role, I work closely with faculty, staff, and community partners to design initiatives that improve educational outcomes and prepare the next generation of educators and leaders.
My vantage point within the College of Education has given me a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the field, especially in the areas of equity, technology, and leadership. These insights have fueled my pursuit of an Ed.D. in Educational Technology Leadership, a program I see as critical to my mission of creating equitable experiences, inclusive learning environments, and transformative opportunities through the strategic use of technology.
My passion for change is rooted in both my professional and personal experiences. As a Black woman in higher education, I have witnessed firsthand how systemic policies can unintentionally marginalize students from diverse and low socioeconomic backgrounds. I am committed to using technology as a lever for equity, addressing the digital divide, and ensuring that all students, especially those underrepresented, have access to the tools, resources, and digital literacy skills they need to succeed.
I believe that collaboration, creativity, and innovation are essential to solving real-world challenges in education. I envision building platforms and initiatives that foster mentorship, peer support, and personalized learning pathways, ultimately cultivating a sense of belonging for every student. Through my leadership, I hope to leave a lasting legacy...one defined by empathy, inclusion, and the transformative power of education.
