Research

Mission

I study the complex systems that can arise from simple rules. This study has brought me to a wide range of problem domains and tools: from systems of oscillators whose interactions can create confounding behaviors, to studying questions of longevity and evolution as well as fundamental questions in graph theory. Throughout, my research projects have shown that careful and detailed thinking can reveal broad and general characterizations but also that many of the current approaches involve significant limitations which more specific and detailed analysis can circumvent.
