This page contains a link to a game set inside a hypersphere, co-created by me and (good friend and software engineer) Isaac Dulin. A hypersphere (or three-sphere to mathematicians) is a higher dimensional analogue of a sphere. In math terms a sphere is the boundary of a three-dimensional ball, so a sphere is like the skin of a basketball and the ball is the air inside it. Likewise, a hypersphere is the boundary of a four-dimensional ball! Just like a sphere has a circle as an equator, a hypersphere has an equatorial sphere.Â
The game is still a work in progress, and can be a little confusing. You win by collecting all the stars---the glowing yellow objects---and you lose if you collide with three asteroids. The only controls you really need are W (to go forward), S (to go backward), and your keyboard trackpad (to steer). Also:
Due to the spherical geometry, sometimes things that are far away will appear to be large.
Try flying along the surface of the equatorial sphere (marked out by hexagons). Notice how it appears flat when you fly along it, but it appears round when you sit at the North or South Pole (the big blue and red balls).
Happy flying!
