What's that saying? "You don't know until you try"?
One of the best ways to learn about a job is to speak with someone who’s doing it! Apply for the 2020 SIS Job Shadow Program and spend one day in your dream job with an SIS alum to gain insight into a job and an organization aligned with your career goals.
The 2020 SIS Job Shadow Program, organized by the SIS Office of Career Development, will take place during spring break between March 9th and March 13th. Your job shadow experience may include informational interviews, observing daily work, an office tour, sitting in on meetings and/or helping with events, and lunch with your host and other employees!
*This event is open to SIS juniors, seniors, and graduate students only.
See below for information about the application, and use the menu at the top of the page to learn more about confirmed hosts.
February 10 - Application opens.
February 24: The deadline has been extended due to new hosts! Apply now by 9:00AM on Monday, February 24th!
February 26 - Students who have been selected to participate will be notified of their assigned host.
The application will ask you to upload your resume and identify at least three people you'd like to shadow and why. Please be thoughtful and thorough with your responses: applications will be reviewed by the Assistant Director of the SIS Office of Career Development and all of the job shadow hosts you choose. Please note that spots are limited. We will try to accommodate everyone's preferences, but this is not guaranteed.
Only complete applications will be considered.
IMPORTANT: By submitting an application, you commit to this program. Once matched with a host, you have taken an opportunity that can no longer be given to another student. Outside of sickness or emergency, cancellations and no-shows will be penalized.
