Here is my online CV.
My PhD Dissertation
I received my Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Brazil, in January 2019. Claudio de Almeida was my supervisor, and I had Luis Rosa (Washington University in St. Louis), Rodrigo Borges (University of Florida), and Rogel Oliveira as committee members. My dissertation was entitled 'Epistemic Defeasibility and the Gettier Problem: An Essay on Propositional Knowledge', and it was approved with distinction by the committee.
My Teachers and Colleagues
I would like to emphasize the importance of having had Claudio de Almeida as my supervisor, as well as a mentor and as a friend, throughout my education. The countless meetings we had to discuss our ideas in epistemology, the Tuesday afternoon sessions of our epistemology seminar, and the experience of forming a kind of dynamic duo of coauthorship with him were all fundamental to my philosophical development. In 2021, Eduardo Alves, Kátia Etcheverry, and I organized a Festschrift in honor of Claudio, entitled Socratically.
Luis Rosa was a direct interlocutor for many years. Always kind and cooperative, he left a lasting mark on an entire generation of epistemology students at PUCRS through his insightful comments and objections. Rodrigo Borges was my teacher for two years and, holding epistemological views quite different from those that were more popular at PUCRS at the time, he challenged (in a positive sense) our ability to defend what we took to be simply standard positions in the field. Felipe Müller, my teacher during my early years as an undergrad, was also quite supportive, since my first research project, on the problem of peer disagreement (then a hot topic), was supervised by him.
Other colleagues, at different moments, also had a significant impact on my formation. Some of them are: André Neiva, Gregory Gaboardi, Kátia Etcheverry, Leonardo Ruivo, Lucas Roisenberg, Luiz Paulo da Cas Cichoski, Ricardo Rangel, Rogel de Oliveira, and Tiegue V. Rodrigues. In addition, over the years, I have had the opportunity to discuss philosophy with (among many others) Scott F. Aikin, Charity Anderson, Otávio Bueno, Richard Foley, Sanford Goldberg, John Greco, Stephen Hetherington, Peter Klein, Jennifer Lackey, Blake Roeber, Ernest Sosa, Julia Staffel, and Katia Vavova.
My Students
Finally, I should mention that I have an excellent group of highly engaged supervisees working with me. They are: Eduardo Alves, Taís Chiodelli, Igor Danilevicz, Guilherme dos Santos, and Vinícius F. Posselt.
