The Songwriting Offer

Are you a new or unpublished songwriter? I exist to help and support you in bringing life to your songs ready for your audience. In terms of publishing rights, I understand fully you own 100% of your song if you have written all chords, melody and lyrics. Where I help you to write the melody, chords or lyrics we will split the publishing rights 50/50, even if I end up providing you with, say, 80% of the actual song. This ensures fairness to you for having the idea in the first place and cements our relationship for any future collaborations!

Here are some FAQ's which should help you if just starting out or in your existing songwriting career:

I have written some lyrics, how can I get the right music put to them?

Free of charge I will provide you with constructive feedback and discuss with you a musical style. I will work with you to come up with the music for your song. I will then offer you my production and backing track services to bring the song to life.

I have written a melody, how can I get the appropriate lyrics to create the song?

Free of charge I will provide you with constructive feedback and discuss the with you the kind of song you want to create and the story you want to tell. I will offer to write the lyrics in full collaboration with you to bring the song to life. As above, I will offer the production and backing track services necessary to record and bring life to your work.

I have written a song but do not feel I have the vocal or musical skills to do it justice.

Don't worry! So many songwriters create material for others and are very successful. Free of charge I will provide you with the feedback you need and then offer to partner with you in producing and recording the song. This can be to demo or even release standard. Please see my other production services for details.

Will I have to sign a publishing contract?

If you are not already in a publishing deal I will work with you to find the best publisher and contract. This protects your rights and gives you global access to those seeking songs. Much more than just access to music industry decision makers, you get professional feedback from them. Some services available charge an annual fee others work on a percentage basis so I will work with you to find the best option for you. I am not affiliated with any publisher so can represent you without prejudice.
