Concert Tips

With all the time spent rehearsing the routines and the cost of costumes, it is well worth the effort to ensure everyone is looking their best!

Grooming and personal presentation is so important in dance performances and more importantly, the kids should be focused on the exciting performance ahead, not stressing because they are wearing the wrong shoes or stockings. 

The following hints will help for a successful concert:

1. Know which costume is which

Make sure you know the order of your routines and which costume (and accessory) goes with which dance. This will be practised at the dress rehearsal and checked by a teacher before they go on stage at the concert. 

2.  Put the “Under” in Underwear! 

Students of all ages must wear underwear that will not be visible under their costumes, so please be mindful of colour selection on concert day. In saying that, they must wear underwear! 

3.  Clean and Labelled Shoes

Please make sure you give your child's shoes a good clean the night before each event. Please ensure all shoes are clearly labelled. 

4.  Hair

Hair must be neat and tidy! Bring plenty of hairspray and gel to ensure ponytails and buns are slick. Bobby Pins are your friend! Please ensure you secure all hair accessories.

5. Filming and Photography  

Filming and photography is not permitted during the concert.
