Systodans

• Most don't have emotions

  • They don't take leisure time, they're either working, charging, or both

  • If you say hello to one, they'll just say their name, condition, and job

    • Much of their other speech is purely functional in that sort of way, but they will speak in full sentences for those.

• What they do is decided by their home Planetodan, which is overseen by a being known only as Trusted Installer

  • There are occasionally more steps in the hierarchy, and some are directly controlled by Trusted Installer.

    • There was once an attempt to have the systodans control themselves in a project called "System 2000", but it was about 100,000 seconds before chaos ensued

• they base everything on seconds

  • for example, 100kg is 1 second because a Systodan's lift capacity is 1 metric ton and a Systodan takes 10 seconds to construct

  • work is paid to non-Systodan workers in seconds, and their buying power is based on how long it takes to make the thing you're buying

    • a ham & cheese sandwich is 16725 seconds, which is $33.68 (USA)

      • literally 99% of that price is for ham, a grilled cheese is 63 seconds, which is $0.12

      • calculations 

    • if the thing is made in batches, the price is divided accordingly

  • energy is measured in how many seconds the home power plant takes to produce that amount.

    • the fact it's based on something specific is rarely an issue
