Starting in 2022, the JMU NASA Student Launch team has participated in the NASA Student Launch Initiative High-Powered Rocketry Completion. Since the first team, there has been a transaction of knowledge, resources, and skills passed down. With each iteration, we are able to build up and learn more, pushing the limits our abilities beyond.

Beginning in the 2022 - 2023 school year, team members on the NASA SLI capstone partnered to create the Madison Aerospace Club (MAC). The goal of this club is to support engineering students in the program interested in aerospace topics and engineering, providing them with a outlet to learn and apply a variety of skills and knowledge. This gave the project a outlet for future members of the capstone project to learn from seniors and begin developing useful skills needed to succeed in the competition. Through this opportunity, senior club members are able to gain both mentor and leadership experiences as they are both learning and teaching students during the competition year.
