We are the James Madison University (JMU) Madison Welders Club. We were founded with the Department of Engineering in 2019.
Madison Welders is a club dedicated to educating an connecting JMU students who are interested in the art of welding. We work to host activities that both foster professional as well as artistic development through the art of welding. Members have the opportunity to learn, and refine skills through welding trainings and workshops. With access to MIG, TIG, and Arc welding machines, members have a variety of area in which they can focus their technical development and artistic expression. As a chapter of the American Welding Society, members are able to obtain welding certifications, and connect with industry professionals.
The JMU Madison Welders club is open to all students interested in joining across all majors and grade levels. This provides a unique opportunity for collaboration and interdisciplinary fields to work together. This opportunity is paired with students across all grade levels to further build collective learning and growth. Unique trips and opportunities are available to tour live worksites and practice outside the classroom.Â
