Elizabeth Lamade - President

Engineering Major

Graduation year: 2026

Elizabeth serves as the current president for Madison Welders. She is on track to graduate Spring 2026 with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. Her passion for hands-on work and machinery led her to join Madison Welders, where she has found the opportunity to connect with remarkable individuals and enhance her skills.

Abby Molloy - Co-Vice President

Engineering Major - Electromechanical Systems

Abby is an electromechanical systems engineer and is one of the two Vice Presidents for Madison Welders. She has a diverse spread of academic pursuits, including a bachelors degree and three minors, and is on track to graduate by 2027. She joined Madison Welders as a way to further express her creativity and broaden her engineering skill set. Since joining in fall of 2023, she has cemented herself as a part of the executive team, and is excited to both expand the scope of the club and help shape as many of the JMU dukes into successful welders as she can.

Steven Robertson - Co-Vice President

Industrial Design Major

Steven is a senior Industrial Design Major at JMU and is one of two Vice Presidents for Madison Welders. This year marks his fifth with the club. He has always been interested in learning trade skills, and reasoned that Madison Welders would be a great opportunity to learn and gain experience in welding. He would like to make Madison welders a place for anyone to learn and grow their skills in welding.

Austin Bernsen - Secretary

Engineering Major

Austin Bernsen is an Engineering Major, Class of 2026. His interests are in aerospace and mechanical engineering. He joined Madison Welders exec to help grow the club and to grow his welding skills.

Sammy Nelms - Treasurer

Sammy is a junior engineering major graduating in 2027. She joined Madison Welders exec to be more involved in the club, especially getting more people and more majors involved. A goal of Sammy's is to ensure that the club provides a hands-on experience that you can't find anywhere else!

Brooke McManus - Social Chair

Engineering - Electromechanical Systems

Brooke is a electromechanical systems engineer and is the social chair for Madison Welders. On top of engineering and minors in robotics and mathematics, she is involved with many other groups at JMU, such as engineering ambassadors, the marching and pep band, club climbing, and her music service org, Kappa Kappa Psi. She joined Madison Welders as a good way to get more involved in the JMU engineering space, and has since found welding to be an enjoyable part of her college experience. She wants Madison Welders to be bigger and more welcoming than it already is!
