ACJA members have exclusive access to the a joint educational ride along program with James Madison University Police Department. Members can ride with JMUPD officer to experience what a routine shift as a JMUPD officer looks like. Blue Ridge Legal Services provides free legal services to lower-income residents of the Shenandoah Valley. Focuses include protection from domestic violence, predatory loans, unemployment compensation, nursing home discharge, financial exploitation of the elderly, bankruptcy and debt issues, foreclosure, eviction, and repair issues in rental housing. Note: Internship program is on hold following the pandemic.

Virginia ABC is charged with enforcing the laws of the Commonwealth pertaining to the manufacture and sale of alcoholic beverages. Virginia ABC special agents have full police powers with a diverse range of duties—from investigating license applicants and conducting underage sale compliance checks, to enforcing ABC laws in nearly 19,000 licensed establishments. They also investigate and prosecute criminal activities ranging from drugs, gangs and gambling, to money laundering and tax evasion.
OCPD hires 100+ seasonal employees every Summer. They accept sworn Seasonal Police Officers for those over 21 years old, and civilian Public Safety personnel for those under 21. They also accept Seasonal Dispatchers. Seasonal officers have full law enforcement authority, including powers of arrest. Civilian public safety personnel supplement the sworn officers, by providing backup and operating the booking facility.
Unpaid internship which provides students with educationally related work assignments. Assignments must be related to the students' majors and interests, and students are encouraged to receive academic credit (as determined by each school).

TSA is looking for students to participate as a decoy for K-9 training in airports. They train their dogs constantly to maintain security for all airport passengers.
