We had a great meeting with two Hanover County Sheriff's Deputies. We got more insight about working for their department, the perks, schedule, and even an internship! After that, we went through a case review that they worked in the last 5 years, for more insight on how the case process works.
Leesburg Police Department: Detective SGT and Forensic Crime Scene technician
Great meeting with the forensics unit from Northern Virginia. Got great insight on what it takes to be a forensic crime scene technician. We learned about different techniques that the departments use to collect evidence, what type of pictures are needed from the crime scenes, and other technologies that are used in labs to process information.
Blue ridge CASA came and spoke about their organization! They look for volunteers to help kids with the court process. BRCASA are special advocates that will work 1 on 1 with children in need. This is a great organization to look into if you are looking to help out in the local community!
As a professional organization, we look to enhance our members professional abilities, Ms. Gibbons from the University Career Center gave a presentation on proper interviewing tips.

Members only skating event from 7:30-9:30pm on April 9th at Funky's Skate Center.
Our Pie a Member Event was a success! ACJA members raised $250 for the Collins Center and enjoyed some delicious pie in the face!
