After four years of existence, JMED formally created an educational task force (JMEDET). Prior to the formation of JMEDET, members of JMED had contributed extensively to the Jamaican educational landscape due to the large number of teachers working in this region. A decision was made by the JMED Executive, as part of a restructuring effort to form task forces in order to tap into the potential outside of education that was present.

Dr Megel Barker, a lifelong educator, who is an assistant principal at an international school in Muscat Oman was tasked with the responsibility to lead the task force. The team in its short history has embarked on a number of ambitious projects already providing much-needed support to students and teachers in Jamaica. Below you can see the current JMEDET members and their roles.
