Short Biography
Jinkyu Kang received the B.Sc. degree in electrical communications engineering, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejeon, South Korea, in 2009, 2011, and 2015, respectively. From 2012 to 2013, he was a Visiting Scholar with the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ, USA. He served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Information and Electronics Research Institute at KAIST from 2015 to 2016, and with the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA, from 2016 to 2017. From 2017 to 2020, he was a Senior Engineer with the Standards Research Team at Samsung Research, Seoul, South Korea, working on 5G standardization for 3GPP. He was an Assistant Professor and later an Associate Professor with the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at Myongji University, Yongin, South Korea, from September 2020 to August 2026. Since September 2026, he has been with Dongguk University, Seoul, South Korea. His research interests include wireless communication, signal processing for cooperative communication, and information theory.
