STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe that the Church is a collection of believers (Acts 2:47). People created by God, offered salvation through Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to bear witness in the community concerning God’s creative, redeeming, and sanctifying work (Acts 1:8).
We believe in one God, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in nature, power, and glory (Matt. 28:19; John 10:30; 1 John 5:7). We believe in the Holy Spirit, a divine person distinct from the Father and Son (John 14:26, 15:27, 16:13: Acts 1:2, 8).
We Believe in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ (John 10:33); the eternally begotten Son (John 3:16), conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Isaiah 7:14; Matt. 1:23; Luke 1:35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15; 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11); His atoning death (John 11:25; 1 Cor. 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of God the Father (Mark 16:19); His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11).
We believe the Holy Scriptures (Bible) as contained in the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God and is our rule of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:15; 2 Peter 1:21).
We believe man was originally created in the image of God, but through sin he brought upon himself and his posterity, not only physical death, but spiritual death as well, which separated us from God; that all humanity by physical birth possess a sinful nature and are therefore sinners in thought, word and deed; that they can be restored to fellowship with God through faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:5-6, 16-17, 5:24; Romans 3:23, 5:8-9, 9:9-10; Titus 3:5).
We believe “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures”; that His death was a substitutionary atonement for our sins; and that all who believe in Him are forgiven, accounted righteous before God, justified and given eternal life (Eph. 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:14-15).
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29).
We believe in a real heaven (Revelation 21:1) and a real hell (Luke 12:5).
We believe in Holy Communion (Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14L22-25; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians11:23-26), water baptism (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3), spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:1-11), and feet washing (John 13:1-15).
