Are you an empirical economist looking for ways to make use of cutting-edge econometric techniques to answer your research questions? Or an econometrician curious about the next breakthrough method that applied researchers will be eager to use? The Mostly Helpful Econometrics (MHE) Workshop was created to bring these perspectives together.
Designed to foster collaboration between econometrics and applied economics students, as well as those from related fields, the workshop supports applied researchers in addressing econometric challenges while also highlighting unsolved problems and promising directions for new econometric methods.
The workshop is currently on hold as my co-organizer, Cara Haughey, and I are both on the job market this year, but inquiries and requests are still welcome and can be submitted here. We plan to restart the workshop after the job market cycle.
The Econometrics Reading Group (ERG) is a student-led platform where graduate students in econometrics discuss papers, exchange ideas, and give practice presentations on their ongoing research. The group also organizes seminars with invited professors and hosts talks on professional development.
I served as the leader of ERG during the 2023–2025 academic years. The role has been passed down to Thomas Cunningham this year.
