Welcome to the home of Jim Landwehr, author of The Portland House: A 70's Memoir, Dirty Shirt: A Boundary Waters Memoir, Written Life and Reciting From Memory.
Jim was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. He loves outdoor sports, including biking, kayaking, canoeing, camping and fishing. It was his love of camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota that led him to write Dirty Shirt: A Boundary Waters Memoir. The book features humorous accounts of trips he took to the area with his brothers, friends and children over the past twenty five years.
He recently released his second memoir, The Portland House: A 70's Memoir, about the house he grew up in with his mother, his five siblings and a litany of stray pets.
Jim also writes poetry and has two poetry collections, Written Life by eLectio Publishing, and Reciting From Memory by Underground Voices. He also has a chapbook titled, On a Road, scheduled for publication on 10/21/2018.
Jim is married to Donna and has two children, Sarah and Benjamin. He lives and works in Waukesha, Wisconsin as a Land Information Systems Supervisor for Waukesha County. He is currently serving a term as poet laureate for the Village of Wales, Wisconsin.
