Grants and Educational Technology Leadership

We are living in a digital world and to be effective teachers we need to take the steps to learn new ways of teaching using technology. Teachers need professional development to learn new techniques on how to be effectively create opportunities for student to succeed in classroom as well as in the 21st century. This page contains some found resources as well as resources that I created as part of my Masters Program at Bowling Green State University.

Grant & Literature Review for Professional Development

Another project for my Masters Class was to select an aspect of Professional Development with relationship to Technology. We were to write a literature review on that topic and apply for a grant to achieve our Professional Development goal. I chose to apply for a grant to cover the cost of attendance at the Ohio Technology Education Conference to learn about Google Classroom. Below you will find links to both my grant application and my literature review.

Dynamic Media Vision Presentation - For this project I created a PowToon video to show how I envision my classroom to function with transformational change with the integration of digital technologies.

Strategic Plan Needs Assessment

The focus of this project was to analyze and synthesize professional development needs survey results to determine best practices for designing and conducting a program for technology integration professional development that meets teacher long term needs aligned with district continuous improvement. The survey consists of eighty-one items. For each question, respondents were asked to rank their agreement with a statement on a scale of zero to five, with zero meaning Strongly Disagree and five meaning Strongly Agree. See links to the side for results and my analysis.

The demographic that was surveyed consists of the instructor’s former students in the Classroom Technology Master’s program at Bowling Green State University who recently took the course EDTL 6320, Technology Leadership and Professional Development. Because of the nature of the survey participants, the data from the survey reflects the use and support of educational technology in a variety of school districts. The data is still useful however, providing an overarching view of educational technology use and support throughout the state of Ohio, with some additional input from respondents from out of state, from Michigan and Texas. The goal of the analysis is to determine aspects of educational technology which receive significant emphasis and limited emphasis, and will subsequently be used to make recommendations for a plan of professional development that focuses on increasing the overall level of technology use and support for transformation to modern teaching and learning strategies.
