Jillet Sarah Sam

I am an economic sociologist, specializing in money, finance, and digitization in India. Currently, I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. At IIT Kanpur, I run the Digital Money Lab. I hold postgraduate degrees in sociology from the University of Maryland College Park (PhD) and the University of Hyderabad (MA), and an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Delhi (BA). 

At present, my research follows three tracks: 

• Fintechs and institutionalization of digital money, finance and accounting

• Reshaping of money and finance in platform ecosystems

• Socialities around data monies and digital investments
