This project examines the psychometric properties of novel measures designed to assess early scientific interest in preschoolers.
Developed as part of my qualifying examination, this work serves as the foundation for my ongoing doctoral dissertation.
This study examines how components of the Home Science Environment (HSE) are associated with preschool-aged children’s scientific interest. By looking at science-related home resources, engagements, and the underlying attitudinal climate in which those are embedded, this study aims to help better identify the dimensions of the home science environment that better explain young children’s emerging scientific interest.

Preschool Science Show Study (PI: Dr. Amy E. Booth): This study investigated the impact of live science workshops on preschoolers' scientific interest and knowledge. Collaborated with a local Nashville vendor (Mr. Bond's Science Guys) and preschool (Fannie Battle Day Home).
AI-Driven Shared Book Reading Mobile Application Project (PI: Dr. Margaret Shavlik): This study evaluated the usability and impact of a mobile app that generates quality-questions with AI for dialogic reading during parent-child shared book reading.
