As an educator and an investor, it is important to look at the purpose of JigSpace and its growth potential. Being a design and innovation teacher, I significantly consider the needs of my students first and foremost. This pertains to an investor mindset, as a product that contributes to educational growth will also be seen as a lucrative venture financially and functionally. I believe that being an investor and educator both have equal importance in choosing a product to champion in the world of learning. The following information is to critique its effectiveness as a tool of learning in order to determine whether the product is effective enough to invest in. By satisfying the learning needs of students, it gives the product the ability to competatively access most learning markets.
JigSpace utilizes 3-Dimensional thinking in conceptually difficult situations. It allows the user to demonstrate understanding through multiple layers, as the product can be exploded and manipulated through software interaction. Hays (1996) purports that those with higher spatial abilities can improve this awareness through manipulation, while those with lower spatial abilities stand to gain the most benefit from being able to manipulate objects spatially.
Abstract concepts can be visualized and shared using JigSpace. This allows students to create visual representations that delineate in greater detail the technical concepts of a CAD product. Animation of the design process shows the points of interaction within a system rather than isolated facts about a product. For example, viewing how a rotor works within a turbine system as it is functioning is more impactful to a learner than simply stating a rotor is necessary. This form of visual communication can be shared with others, allowing students to demonstrate learning.
By building knowledge through exploration, JigSpace allows the user to interact with every facet of the CAD product. Because the student can manipulate every part of the design, both internal and external, it allows seeing how the pieces work with each other. By experiencing and reflecting on these mechanisms, students can draw understanding actively rather than passively.
JigSpace thrives in the design thinking space as it assists in empathizing with users, defining problems, ideating solutions, prototyping representation, and testing the product visibly. Augmented reality allows the user to revisit the empathizing stage to continue the ideation process. Actively creating a multifaceted and functioning prototype allows for problem-solving and testing.
Instead of rote memorization, students can be asked to create a visual explanation of a functioning product, which gives a more thorough measurement of the students' interaction with the product and technical understanding. An important factor of authentic assessment is creating working scenarios in which the student approaches the problem through professional practice.
Interactivity promotes engagement by giving students the ability to manipulate the product three dimensionally and create their own opportunities of inquiry. This level of interaction supercedes 2D diagrams as engagement stops at external visualization.
JigSpace leverages future-ready skills such as digital twinning, AR, and CAD. It promotes digital communication skills and supports industries with similiar technological integration such as engineering, architecture, industrial design and product development.
From an investor-centric viewpoint, JigSpace does not compete with AI. Instead, it fills a niche space that assists in a user-centered workflow.
Utilize AI to research a topic
Identify and summarize key concepts
Build or import a 3D model
Design an interactive Jig that explains the concept
Present the Jig to justify the explanation
JigSpace is not stuck in the education industry and branches into numerous other applications with a career-focused orientation. This not only supports the educational lens of learning industry-standard 3D visualization processes in school but also allows the product to be marketed outside of the educational bubble.

Due to heavy investment by tech giants such as Meta, Apple, Google, and Microsoft, the spatial computing industry is exploding. This has been likened to an arms race for AR/VR/MR. As digital technologies continue to permeate the industrial world, the need for spatial computing has increased with it. More considerations of spatial computing growth will be brought forth in the marketing analysis section.
