The following courses are offered under the master's programme MSc Mechanical Engineering - Track: High-Tech Engineering at TU Delft.
In applied mechanics one is often confronted with a multi-physics or coupled problem: A problem that requires the (simultaneous) solution of more than one type of physical process or phenomenon in order to accurately describe the problem. In this course the student will learn to recognize different types of multi-physics coupling and methods for their efficient numerical solution using COMSOL.
This course explores the experimental aspects of dynamics. Building upon the theoretical foundations covered in Engineering Dynamics (ME46055), it shifts the focus to practical skills – how to measure, analyze, and interpret vibration and acoustic data through hands-on experiments. Core topics include signal processing, frequency response functions, measurement instrumentation, and modal parameter estimation. The course bridges macro- and microscale dynamics by introducing measurement instruments techniques and instruments applicable at each scale, complemented by guest lectures from experts working in these domains.
