I am an assistant professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at Soongsil University. I have dedicated my career to teaching and research in second language testing and assessment, with a focus on fairness, equity, and social justice. My research critically examines the biases and fairness in language assessments, particularly in high-stakes, computerized tests. My research methods are rooted in quantitative analysis, and I advocate for open science to promote transparency and ethical research practices.
My future research will continue to focus on ensuring language assessments are equitable, particularly as digital technologies evolve. I am committed to advancing research methodologies and promoting practices that address the diverse needs of test-takers, especially those from underrepresented groups. I can be reached at jieunkim@ssu.ac.kr.
